I love to take pictures of beautiful things which led me to the Protea flower. I have since learned that the Proteus comes in many shapes, colors and sizes. I have read that the genus dates back approximately 300 million years and is one of the oldest families of flower plants on the planet. The family was named after the sea god Proteus in Greek mythology. He was able to adapt to any shape he wanted and knew all things-past, present and future - but disliked sharing his knowledge.
